Elkesley Neighbourhood Plan

Overview

The Elkesley Neighbourhood Plan was formally 'made' by Bassetlaw District Council following the referendum held on 12 November 2015. The Neighbourhood Plan forms part of the statutory Local Development Plan for Bassetlaw and shall be used when either applying for planning permission or determining planning applications within the Neighbourhood Area. Work to review the Neighbourhood Plan commenced in mid 2023, as detailed below.

Development Stages and Supporting Documents

Neighbourhood plans progress through various stages between designation and adoption. The progress of the Elkesley Neighbourhood Plan, and all supporting documents, is detailed below, with the most recent stage addressed first.

Review: Submission stage (February - March 2025)

The Submission Draft version of the reviewed Elkesley Neighbourhood Plan has been formally submitted to Bassetlaw District Council in accordance with Regulation 15 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012.

The District Council is now consulting statutory bodies and interested parties on this submission, in accordance with Regulation 16 of the same regulations. The consultation commenced on Tuesday 11 February 2025 and runs for six weeks, concluding at 5 pm on Monday 24 March. All comments are welcome, and should be submitted in writing, either by letter or email.

Once the consultation has closed, all representations received will be collated and provided to an independent examiner who will examine the Neighbourhood Plan in accordance with the relevant regulations. When completed, the examiner will produce an examination report that will identify any proposed modifications to the Neighbourhood Plan. The examiner will also recommend whether they feel the Plan should proceed to a public referendum. If you would like to be notified of the outcome of the examination process, please include an indication to this effect as part of your representation.
