Bassetlaw District Council’s customer services are on the move temporarily from 17b The Square, in Retford.
From Monday 16th September the Council’s customer services team will be located at the Nottinghamshire County Council offices on Chancery Lane, located between Goodwin Hall and the Glass House.
Other services based at 17b, including those provided by Nottinghamshire County Council and Citizen’s Advice will also move to Chancery Lane, while Nottinghamshire Police will be moving to the Town Hall Yard.
Cllr Alan Rhodes, Cabinet Member for Corporate and Financial Services said: “Although we are temporarily moving our customer services team in Retford, it will be business as usual for those in the town seeking support and information.
“Our customer services team will be on hand as normal, or you can continue to access information online, while work is carried out on 17b The Square.”
The temporary move, for around six months, is to allow decarbonisation work to take place which will not only reduce carbon emissions at the building but will help lower energy costs.
As a heritage asset in a conservation area, 17b The Square has been through several design ideas in consultation with the Council’s Conservation team, ensuring all works either preserve or improve its heritage significance.
The scope of works includes, secondary glazing, double glazing, loft insulation, LED lighting, mechanical ventilation with heat recovery (MVHR) and a new heating distribution system to support the air source heat pumps.
You will still be able to speak to our customer services team as you normally would, or you can access our services online.
