Funding to help an Annual Christmas Lunch
Misson’s annual Christmas lunch will be going ahead with all the trimmings this year thanks to a ‘cracker’ of a donation from a Bassetlaw Councillor. The lunch has been a regular fixture in the Misson community since 2017, with the White Horse Inn and the Angel Inn hosting guests in alternate years. This week’s event will be held at the Angel Inn with over 50 people expected to be enjoying the Christmas lunch on offer – one of the biggest attendances yet.
Councillors bring festive cheer to a community club
The Carlton in Lindrick Luncheon Club has been helped by a trio of Bassetlaw councillors to celebrate Christmas with their annual festive meal. A grant of £450 by Cllr Robin Carrington-Wilde, along with fellow Carlton Ward Members Cllr Steve Scotthorne and Cllr David Pidwell, has provided a three-course meal and a drink for each member of the luncheon club.
Funding for new equipment for Sew n Sew Group
A sewing group in Ordsall have been given a helping hand with new equipment and materials thanks to a Councillor Community Grant. The Sew n Sew Group, set up in February last year by Susan Walker, meet every Thursday at Ordsall Parish Hall bringing those with a passion for sewing together to create items from bags to rugs, as well as providing an opportunity to socialise.
