News from East Midlands Chamber (Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire)

Bassetlaw retailers interested in learning about effective strategies to boost in-store and online traffic and sales are being encouraged to attend an event on Thursday, 6 February dedicated to their sector.

The event at The Bridge Skills Hub in Worksop will run from 4pm – 6pm and is designed to inspire and equip retailers with the skills to transform their shopfronts into visual masterpieces.

The speaker for the event is high street branding specialist Wendy Walker of Ovy Design who brings some 20-year expertise in developing a professional, distinct brand and thrive in today's competitive landscape. Business advisers from East Midlands Chamber will also be on hand to update businesses on the latest support on offer to retailers.

The event is being offered as part of Accelerator, a project delivered by East Midlands Chamber on behalf of Bassetlaw District Council and funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF).

Cllr Charles Adams, Cabinet Member for Business and Skills at Bassetlaw District Council, said:

“Retail is a fast-paced sector and it’s important that Bassetlaw’s high-street businesses stay informed about the latest consumer buying habits and how they can meet need – whether that be planning and promoting in-store events to attract and retain shoppers, using displays to create memorable customer experiences that drive sales, or strategies for increasing sales through personalised offers. The workshop will provide practical action they can implement, with the support of an expert business adviser where needed”.

Places can be booked at the Bassetlaw Retail Support Workshop page on East Midlands Chamber’s website.
