Crafters, makers, startups and small businesses are getting the chance to test their trade and experience the world of retail at Worksop’s Priory Shopping Centre.
A series of “Pop-up” spaces are being made available by Bassetlaw District Council, as part of a low cost, low risk introduction to retail on the high street.
Each business will be allocated a space within a shared unit at the centre, with access to full services and amenities, and will join established national retailers and independent retailers who are already on site.
Cllr Charles Adams, Cabinet Member for Business and Skills said:
"This is an exciting opportunity for smaller traders to get an introduction into the world of retail at the Priory Centre in a low-cost, low risk environment and test their trade.
“Whether it’s art, accessories, homeware, jewelry, fashion, or crafts we look forward to hearing from you.”
Businesses will need to commit to operating Monday to Saturday during core centre opening hours, and will be responsible for their own products, staffing, and customer payments.
It comes at an exciting time for the Priory Centre as planning permission has been granted to carry out an extensive £20m refurbishment.
In 2026 the new and improved shopping centre will also be home to a quality entertainment complex, indoor market, and food court.
