Job title: Tenant and Resident Engagement Officer

Grade: Grade 5

Priority 1 – Could not do the job without this

Priority 2 – Could not do the job without this, but provided have Priority 1 criteria, this could be developed in the job over an acceptable period

Priority 3 – Would enhance performance in the job, but is not essential

Qualifications  

  1. Recognised Housing related qualification, BTEC level 3 or equivalent specific and relevant experience gained over a minimum period of 2 or 3 years – Priority One

Knowledge

  1. Knowledge of current housing issues and legislation, particularly in relation to Resident Engagement and Involvement. – Priority One

Experience

  1. Experience of using IT systems e.g. Word, Excel, databases including housing management systems – Priority One
  2. Experience or working within a tenant / resident participation / housing management role or related field - – Priority One
  3. Experience of producing written reports and summarising essential information for staff, managers, tenants and Councillors – Priority Two

Skills

  1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly, sensitively and effectively with people having a broad range of roles and capabilities – Priority One.
  2. Excellent customer care skills – Priority One
