Qualifications  

  1. 3 GSCE’s at Levels 4-9/Grade C / or above including Maths and English – Priority 1
  2. Undertaking relevant Licensing training courses and/or training in the conduct of criminal investigations – Priority 2

Knowledge

  1. Experience and be up to date and competent in two or more of the following subject areas: Alcohol Premises, Regulated Activities, Late Night Refreshments, Gambling, Scrap Metal Dealers, Hackney Carriage & Private Hire; Caravan Sites; Animal Activities and Massage & Special Treatment– Priority 2
  2. Knowledge of Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 and application in investigations – Priority 2

Experience

  1. Significant experience of working with the general public – Priority 1
  2. Flexible approach to working with occasional requirement for late night enforcement activities during anti-social hours – Priority 1
  3. Experience conducting or assisting in investigations – Priority 2
  4. Writing of reports or statements and delivering this information effectively – Priority 3

Skills

  1. Ability to handle and investigate complaints – Priority 1
  2. Ability to work accurately whilst under pressure to meet deadlines – Priority 1
  3. Full driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes – Priority 1
  4. Excellent written and oral communication skills – Priority 1
  5. Ability to use Word, Outlook, Teams and Excel. Ability to adapt to use of unfamiliar software. - Priority 1
