Key requirements:

Priority 2 – Could not do the job without this, but provided have Priority 1 criteria, this could be developed in the job over an acceptable period

Priority 3 – Would enhance performance in the job, but is not essential

Qualifications  

  1. CIPD qualified (level 7 equivalent) or equivalent qualification (Priority 2)

Knowledge

  1. Excellent working knowledge of current employment legislation, contracts of employment and HR best practice (Priority 1)
  2. Excellent working knowledge of best practice and techniques in recruitment and selection (Priority 2)
  3. Knowledge of change management and project management methodologies. (Priority 1)
  4. Advanced knowledge of IT applications e.g. Word & Excel and HR databases (Priority 1)

Experience

  1. Experience of reviewing and improving processes and performance and of working with managers and staff on change and improvement initiatives (Priority 2)
  2. Experience of managing the full range of HR casework including grievance, discipline, absence management, capability, harassment and bullying, redundancy, redeployment (Priority 1)

Skills

  1. Ability to maintain & analyse data, and produce reports from HR Information systems (Priority 2)
  2. Ability to work successfully as part of a team (Priority 1)
  3. Ability to write reports and give presentations to different audiences (Priority 1)
  4. Ability to coach and influence managers through HR related processes (Priority 1)
  5. Ability to research HR best practice, apply it on an organisational setting, and produce ‘best fit’ HR policies and practices (Priority 1)
