Anti-Social Behaviour Team Leader - Person Specification

Job title: Anti-Social Behaviour Team Leader

Key requirements:         

Priority 1 – Could not do the job without this

Priority 2 – Could not do the job without this, but provided have Priority 1 criteria, this could be developed in the job over an acceptable period

Priority 3 – Would enhance performance in the job, but is not essential

Qualifications

  1. GCSE Grade C/5 or above (or equivalent) in both Maths and English. – Priority 1
  2. Higher level qualification, preferably a Degree in a relevant discipline / subject. – Priority 3
  3. Hold or have the ability to obtain a current, clean Enhanced DBS Certificate. – Priority 1
  4. Hold a current valid driving licence and have a vehicle available for work – Priority 1

Knowledge

  1. Thorough working knowledge of current Government ASB, Crime and Disorder Legislation, Policies and Priorities. – Priority 2
  2. Understanding and sensitivity to confidentiality and GDPR – Priority 2
  3. An awareness of equalities and diversity and commitment to implement the Council’s equality and diversity policies - Priority 2

Experience

  1. A minimum of three years’ experience of working in partnership with public sector organisations including the police and local authorities, or related field and relevant experience. – Priority 1
  2. ASB case management and enforcement, including a thorough working knowledge of relevant anti-social behaviour, housing, crime and disorder legislation, particularly the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime & Policing Act 2014. – Priority 1
  3. Using operational case management systems. – Priority 2
  4. Effectively managing and leading a team. – Priority 3
  5. Working with vulnerable people and effectively managing safeguarding concerns. – Priority 3

Skills

  1. Operate ICT systems, for example Microsoft Office, and other systems used by the service. – Priority 1
  2. Ability to manage and resolve a wide range of anti-social behaviour issues through effective case management and appropriate use of tools and powers, overseeing the team’s casework and leading on more complex cases. – Priority 1
  3. Present evidence/information in Court or multi-disciplinary meetings. - Priority 2
  4. Analyse data and prepare detailed and accurate information and reports for management use, and implement support/action plans. – Priority 3
  5. Customer focused and committed to delivering high customer satisfaction, with excellent verbal and communication skills. – Priority 2
  6. Chair multi-disciplinary meetings dealing with challenging situations. – Priority 2
  7. Ability to deal with conflict and challenging behaviour with diplomacy and empathy – Priority 2
  8. Ability to work effectively in a busy environment, on own initiative, displaying self-motivation/drive/ambition/enthusiasm, whilst leading a team. – Priority 2
