Anti-Social Behaviour Team Leader - Job Description

Job title: Anti-Social Behaviour Team Leader

Responsible To: Community Safety & Safeguarding Manager 

Job Purpose: The post-holder will be responsible for delivering a customer focused, high-quality response to complaints of anti-social behaviour across the District through the effective line management of the Anti-Social behaviour Officers and Safer Street Wardens, to direct resources effectively and provide advice, guidance and support.

Key Responsibilities:

1. To manage a team that provides a comprehensive Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) service to residents and visitors within the district.

a) To provide effective and supportive day-to-day line management of the ASB Officers, including case allocation and oversight, and all welfare/HR issues

b) To provide effective and supportive day-to-day line management of the Safer Street Wardens across Bassetlaw, including welfare/HR issues, shift patterns and patrol planning

c) To deputise for the Community Safety & Safeguarding Manager as required

d) Manage and maintain team equipment such as body worn cameras, lone working fobs, radios, vehicle and uniform

2. To take the lead role in the operational management of ASB for Bassetlaw District Council.

a) To oversee the management of all cases allocated to ASB Officers through the e-cins system and initial reports through the ESB system, ensuring expeditious escalation of interventions.

b)To act as the lead officer in more complex investigations/cases.

c) To be the operational lead on developing and delivering effective interventions and preventative activity in partnership with relevant agencies.

d) Make recommendations to ensure the ASB service is customer focussed, efficient and gives value for money. To compile/draw together evidence to demonstrate these qualities of the service.

e) Lead multi-agency, problem-solving and partnering meetings/forums/events.

f) To assist front line teams in problem-solving complex casework, case reviews and problem areas and identify creative solutions.

g) Manage FPN payments.

3. To provide support and guidance to staff for which the post holder has specific responsibility, to manage and monitor performance and to ensure that at all times the policies and procedures of Bassetlaw District Council are followed.

a) To ensure that legal, statutory and any other relevant provision governing or affecting the service area are strictly observed.

4. The post holder will be subject to Performance Measurement against identified targets, objectives as set by management, and Service Delivery Plan. 

5. Contribute to the development of policies and procedures involving the Community Safety Service, keeping up to date with best practice, putting forward ideas and suggestions for service improvements, and recognising opportunities for the promotion of the service.

6. To ensure compliance on all Health and Safety issues within the office environment and associated operational areas.

The post holder is required to carry out any other duties appropriate for the grade and responsibility level of the post.

The post holder will be required to comply with relevant legislation and in accordance with the Council’s policies and procedures.

The post holder will be employed under the NJC Conditions of Service for Local Government Services.
