Administrator Building Control - Job Description

Key responsibilities

1. To positively contribute to and be an efficient and effective member of the Council’s Building Control team and the wider Planning and Place Service Area.

2. To carry out administrative duties associated with relevant statutory and other Building Control targets. Including, but not limited to, issuing reports, e-mails, letters, spreadsheets, notices, forms, etc as part of the statutory Building Control process as guided by Registered Building Inspectors.

3. To assist and co-operate with the Building Control Manager, Registered Building Inspectors and other members of the team with Building Control case work administration.

4. To provide general, procedural, and non-technical Building Regulations advice to the public and professionals, by e-mail and/or over the telephone as required.

5. To operate and assist with the development of digital record systems in accordance with Building Control functions.

6. To organise and prioritise workflow depending on changing needs of the Service Area. To collaborate with colleagues to achieve desired outcomes and the overall delivery of an efficient and effective service.
