The Strategic Housing Market Assessment (SHMA) is a key document which provides valuable information on the needs and demands of the housing market in Bassetlaw.
The SHMA informs the Housing Market Area, and provides the basis for a new Housing Strategy which is currently under development.
The new SHMA has recently been completed for the North Derbyshire and Bassetlaw sub-region. The SHMA improves the Council’s understanding of the need for both market housing and affordable housing. It takes account of changes to the housing stock, market dynamics, short and long term drivers of change and the impact of national and local policies on the demand for housing.
We do not produce printed copies of the SHMA as it is such a large document.
