NOTICE OF ELECTION

UK Parliamentary Election

for the

Bassetlaw Constituency

  1. An Election is to be held for a Member of Parliament to serve Bassetlaw.

  2. Nomination papers can be obtained from the office of the Acting Returning Officer at Queen’s Buildings, Potter Street, Worksop, Nottinghamshire, S80 2AH, during the times stated below.

  3. Nomination papers must be delivered to the Acting Returning Officer, Queens Buildings, Potter Street, Worksop, Nottinghamshire, S80 2AH on any day after the date of this notice, on Monday to Friday between the hours of 10:00 am and 4:00 pm but no later than 4 pm on Friday, 7th June 2024.

  4. The £500 deposit can be paid by legal tender or by means of a banker’s draft from a drawer which carries on business as a banker in the United Kingdom.

  5. If any election is contested the poll will take place on Thursday, 4th July 2024.

  6. Applications to register to vote must reach the relevant Electoral Registration Officer by 12 midnight on Tuesday 18th June Applications can be made online: https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.

  7. New applications to vote by post, and amendments or cancellations of proxy vote arrangements must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Queens Buildings, Potter Street, Worksop, Nottinghamshire, S80 2AH by 5 pm on Wednesday, 19th June 2024. Applications can be made online:https://www.gov.uk/apply-postal-vote.

  8. Applications for a Voter Authority Certificate or an Anonymous Elector’s Document valid for this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Wednesday 26th June 2024. Applications for a Voter Authority Certificate can be made online: https://www.gov.uk/apply-for-photo-id-voter-authority-certificate.

  9. New applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Queens Buildings, Potter Street, Worksop, Nottinghamshire, S80 2AH by 5 pm on Wednesday, 26th June 2024. https://www.gov.uk/apply-proxy-vote.

  10. Applications to vote by emergency proxy at this election on grounds of physical incapacity or for work/service reasons must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Queens Buildings, Potter Street, Worksop, Nottinghamshire, S80 2AH by 5 pm on Thursday, 4th July 2024. The physical incapacity must have occurred after 5 pm on Wednesday, 26th June 2024. To apply on the grounds of work/service, the person must have become aware that they cannot go to the polling station in person after 5 pm on Wednesday, 26th June 2024.
