Notice of Review

Notice is hereby given that the Council is conducting a review of the polling districts and polling places that fall within the district of Bassetlaw.

The Returning Officer will comment on any proposals and those representations will be published on the Council’s website in accordance with the timetable set out below.

The Council welcomes input from any elector resident within the District of Bassetlaw.  Representations may be made about the existing or proposed arrangements and their accessibility for electors.

The Council particularly welcomes views regarding accessibility for disabled voters, in particular from bodies or persons with experience or expertise on these issues.

When making representations, if possible, alternative arrangements should be proposed.

Anybody that makes representations should be aware that, upon completion of the review, all correspondence and representations received must, by law, also be published.

Timetable for the Review

29th September 2023 - Publication of formal notice of review. 

29th September 2023 to 10th November 2023 - Public consultation on the review.

24th November 2023 - Publication of the RO's comments and final proposals. 

22nd December 2023 - Deadline for receipt of public comments on the RO's comments and proposals. 

25th January 2024 - Meeting of full Council at which the recommendations from the review will be considered. Any changes will be implemented on 1st February 2024.
